About April Fool's
Apr. 2nd, 2010 05:40 amYou know, I think I used to hate April Fool's, but now I rather enjoy it, I think for two reasons.
- This is my seventh April Fool's for
hp_dungeons. Since I play the Weasley Twins, I'm usually in charge(ish) of a game-wide prank played on the other characters by me, so April Fool's is never a surprise. That was always the worst part: the first two jokes used to get me because I didn't remember. Now I'm prepared.
- Probably something relating to my interest in jester-type characters and associated readings about carnival days and the upending of social order etc. Now I'm remembering fondly the roundtable I moderated at an HP con about trickster archetypes in HP. Lots of interesting discussion despite my decidedly not l33t mod skills.
(Side note: in my head I can remember this roundtable being in a room at The Witching Hour, but in fact it was at Lumos, which a visit to my journal archives just confirmed. How strange.)
