I've been thinking for a while that I would like to do a series of recommendations of my favorite all-time pieces of fanfic. I'm going to try to read one every 2 weeks & post a longer rec than I do on my typical rec lists (a few paragraphs instead of a few sentences). My criteria were that I had to have read the fic more than once, with a first reading at least 1 year ago, so I have some sense that I've loved it over time and not just in the first flush of a new fandom. And I'll reread everything before I write and post a rec. I'll try to avoid overt plot spoilers, but going into detail may reveal more of the tone/emotional content of the fic than some people might like, just as a heads up.
My first fic in this series always had to be freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose, by synecdochic. SGA, John/Rodney, 19K.
