(A lot of this is copied from past Yuletide letters, but you can also read those if you want--I don't post much else on Dreamwidth so you can find them on the main journal page.)
My first and most important principle is that I'd rather have a story/piece of artwork you're excited about than one that fits my exact specifications below (excepting the DNWs and character requests). So if you've got an idea that doesn't seem like something I'd like, don't worry--your enthusiasm is more important to me than any specific content.
DNWs: major character death, child death, amnesia/memory issues, blood/bodily wastes in sex scenes, non-negotiated infidelity, humiliation, and kidfic or pregnancy fic (incidental children are fine, just not fic that focuses on parenting or child care). Please leave characters the gender they are in canon (trans versions are fine, but like, as trans guy David Martelo).
Do wants: In general, I tend to like fics with a lot of one-on-one time between the main pairing. I like a wide array of genres (slice of life, AU, casefic, pwp, character pieces, fluff, angst, straight-up romance). I did that fanfic trope sorter before Yuletide 2020, and my top 5 were "seemingly unrequited pining", "enemies to friends to lovers", "snowed-in cabin", "A/B/O", and "daemons" (with friends to lovers at #6). You don't have to hit those--just as a general idea of the kinds of stuff I like. I post recs on DW under the recs tag if you'd like to see the kinds of fics I like. In KJ Charles fandoms in particular, I really like historical detail as well, if you want to include that!
Explicit sex is fine but by no means required. Kink is great, as long as it follows the DNWs above, but again not required; it doesn't have to be a kink you know I like, if it seems right for the characters.
In art, I tend to like unposed scenes of daily life, and also, like, cuddling. Gen to explicit, it's all fine here too.
Smut/kink loves, in no particular order: D/s, bondage, anal sex, lots of kissing, size kink (one partner much bigger than the other), size kink (big dick), stretching/large object penetration, double penetration, fisting, sounding, edging, consensual exhibitionism (other person WANTS to watch), stuff with mirrors, morning sex, people being overwhelmed by sex.
Smut/kink dislikes: breathplay, permanent injury, bound people left alone, watersports or other bodily wastes. Pretty much anything else I'm probably going to like.
I like all the characters in all of these series, so please feel free to include as many supporting canonical characters as you like. The main characters should be drawn from the request, though.
Specific prompts copied from my signup, just so you have it all in one place:
Lord Corvin/Guy Frisby/John Raven/Philip Rookwood: I liked the prospect of these four making a go of it together, and would love to see how you think it works! Alternately, I find this canon works pretty well in AUs, so feel free to go wild. :)
Dan Gold/Esther Gold:I want ALL THE BACKSTORY about Dan and Esther. How'd they get together? What do they think about Stephen and Crane? Stories exploring their Judaism, or how it interacts with their magic-using, are fine and dandy but not required! I do ship these two pretty hard, so touches of romance are also appreciated :)
Hugh Barnaby/Max Isaacs: So much potential here! Are they already a couple in canon? If not, how do they get there? Do they feel the same way about their transformation, or do they have differing opinions, and does that cause conflict? Tentacle sex???
Jerry Crozier/Alexander "Alec" Pyne-ffoulkes: The kind of D/s dynamic that Alec and Jerry have is one of my favorites to read--and, hey, turns out I like Alec and Jerry as people, too. Some things I'd be interested in seeing in this canon: a kink scene that stretches Alec or Jerry, but which they find they enjoy; more of Jerry's POV; something romantic set post-canon.
Bill Merton/Jimmy Yoxall, Gabriel Ashleigh/Francis Webster: Sort of the same story for both of these: canon couples who don't get enough screen time, and, therefore, couples I want to know WAY more about!
Archie Curtis/Daniel da Silva: I've been rereading some of Cat Sebastian's romances set in the 40s and 50s, and it struck me that Daniel and Archie's dynamic would work well in that kind of historical milieu--or, in fact, a bunch of others. Even to modern day, at least in some locations. So...my first request would be some kind of AU in a different time period. I'd also be interested in some kind of situation that Archie and Daniel get into after they start working together. Or a time when either Archie or Daniel is challenged by something that happens between them, and how that leads to character growth or a change in their relationship--look, I love that kind of stuff, lol.
